Topical Administration of an Aldose Reductase Inhibitor in the Early Stages of Experimental Cataract Formation induced by Galactose Can Maintain Vision
This study indicates that topical application of Kinostat® can arrest or even reverse the early stages of experimental osmotic cataract development in dogs fed a sugar-rich diet. These findings suggest that clinical intervention with Kinostat® at the earliest stags of cataract development may help preserve or improve functional vision in dogs at risk of developing sugar-induced cataracts.
